Heating: Temperatures higher than ninety°C swiftly inactivate the enzyme. Having said that, heating would not completely reduce residual activity. The enzyme was found in 1974 in extracts in the fungus Parengyodontium album (formerly often called Engyodontium album or Tritirachium album).
